Required Readings + Resources

In lecture, Kimberley Rawes, a Career Educator at the UBC Centre for Student Involvement and Careers, will present strategies for developing effective communication within groups. The following videos provide an overview of the key concepts of the session. In particular, being aware of one's own emotional responses when engaged in group work as well as the emotional state of others. Being aware of how you react to challenges and the impact of your responses on others has been associated with being an effective collaborator and a key feature of groups that successfully problem solve (Jordan and Troth, 2014).
